Costs of a child to go to school: €15,- per month (books, pens, food, etc)
This project started when a couple of Dutchmen embarked on a journey to Nepal for a physical and mental challenge through the mountains of the Himalaya. One of them was Dennis Jungerius. During a twelve-day hike he became aware of the poor situation Nepalese children are in.
With Key of Life we have a very simple and easy approach. Helping to educate the children for a better future. The numbers that are needed for kids to be sent to school are as follows.
Costs of a child to go to school: €15,- per month (books, pens, food, etc)
Salary of a school teacher: €250,- per month .
These are our targets to start with. Once we got this up and running, we aim for a next target:
The costs of building a school: €9000,- one-time amount
“Poverty is everywhere around the globe, that is a given fact. But when I saw the kind of conditions the children of Lokhim Chhiwa were living in, I was shocked. There is hardly any money for a teacher, or a school for that matter. Nevertheless, these children were full of joy and kindness. I had to do something. That’s how it all started”
Initiator
“Every child has the right to good education in combination with a safe, stable environment. My heart was sold to Nepal when I experienced the hospitality of the people in the villages there, so grateful and loving! Now I can give something back to contribute to this beautiful project!”
